Lithosphere

Where do you think would be the safest place to live in world? ( speaking geologically, and weather wise)

  1. I do not think there is a safe place in this world. There is no where in this world where you can you get away from lithospheric events or weather events. Mostly in the Pacific Ocean area, they experience a lot of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. In the Atlantic Ocean area, we experience a lot of storms or hurricanes. There is really no escape from the harmfull events.

  2. Yeah Kaitlyn is right I don't think that there is no place on earth where it is safe. There is many storms that occur worldwide from tornadoes to hurricanes to tsunamis. So to pick a specific place would be very hard. Wherever there is on earth where it's so though, I need to find the exact location so I can move there ASAP(as soon as possible).

  3. I don't think there is one place in the world that is safer than every other place. But the land around the pacific ocean has lots of earthquakes and volcanos, but the land around the atlantic ocean has lots of storms.

  4. I agree with everyone when they say that there is no safe place on this Earth. No matter where you go, you will more than likely experience some type of natural disaster at some point in time. Take for example all of the earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan; that could happen anywhere. Although I believe that there is not one specific place to go that is the safest, I believe that some places are safer then others. Luckily here in Elizabeth City, we haven't had many major natural disasters(knock on wood) so therefore, I think that this is a pretty safe place to live.

  5. I actually think Elizabeth City is a safe place to live. We are lucky to live by the beach but still far away enough from little beach storms, not including hurricanes. We have recently have had some close calls with weather, but are truely blessed that we were not hit very hard by this weather. We also have an advanage living in North Carolina we get the snow in the winter and the warm weather in the summer.

  6. I dont actually think that one place is safer to live in because each place you can live will have its own dangerous weather.

  7. I would have to agree with Christopher. Anything is possible to happen and occur anywhere. The best thing to do is to be prepared at all times.

  8. I don't really think anywhere is safer than another place, but I would say somewhere not over two tectonic plates that touch would be safer, most likely no earthquakes. And somewhere away from water. No tsunamis or hurricanes, if you live far enough away.

  9. There really isn't a safe place on our Earth, however if I had to pick I would chose somewhere mid-continental and high in elevation. It would have to be away from tectonic boundaries, so as not to receive many earthquakes.

  10. There is no specific place in the world which is the safest to live. We can't isolate ourselves from everything so there is no need to try. We should just stay prepared for whatever may happen.
